THE MOST LUXURIOUS TYPES OF COFFEE WORLDWIDE

Most of us like to drink coffee in the morning, to help us get a little more awake. Some of us drink coffee all day long, it simply helps to get them through the day. Especially in big cities you can get your coffee-to-go around every corner.
Some types of coffee though, are very special: these are the three most luxurious types of coffee worldwide.
1. Kopi Luwak
This is an Indonesian type of coffee: ‘kopi’ means coffee and ‘luwak’ is an Indonesian animal, the Asian palm civet, that eats raw red coffee berries. The name Kopi Luwak refers to the beans of these coffee berries once they have been eaten and excreted by this animal. After the excretion, the beans are collected and used as a basis for this special type of coffee. Nowadays, Kopi Luwak is available worldwide. Although Kopi Luwak is a form of processing rather than a variety of coffee, it has been called the most expensive coffee in the world with retail prices reaching $350 per pound.
2. La Esmeralda
This coffee is very exclusive and also known as “Esmeralda Special”. Per harvest, only hundred bags are produced. It is originally from the Esmeralda Jaramillo farm in West-Panama. People say La Esmeralda is the purest type of coffee and has an ultimate taste. This taste comes from the cold climate, accurate harvesting and a special form of processing. Once you’ve tried this coffee, you never want anything else! La Esmeralda coffee costs around $170 per pound.
3. St. Helena Coffee
This type of coffee comes from a small, subtropical island called St. Helena, that is located in the South Atlantic. The coffee is made from a bean that only grows on this island: the ‘Green Tipped Bourbon Arabica’ bean. This bean is very vulnerable and should therefore be harvested carefully. To retain all the distinctive features of this coffee, processing must be done very carefully as well. The coffee has a unique scent and a very pleasant taste. St. Helena Coffee costs around $89 per pound.
